Joy Raj is an Indian restaurant in the heart of Bristol. They needed to re-align their brand with their audience with something which looked higher-end and on-trend. We re-designed their branding with a fresh look to position them ahead of their competition. Find out what we did below...
With a brand which wasn't up to date and a very competitive market, I was tasked to re-brand the restaurant to align with their target audience and create an impact online and in person. Similarly, I needed to reflect on their aspirations and show how they brought India's authenticity to Bristol.
Before I designed the brand concept I held a kick-off meeting and discussed where Joy Raj wanted themselves to be positioned within the market. We discovered that they would be competing for a younger demographic with disposable income in Bristol. It was imperative that the branding would target this audience who were socially active online. From this, we decided to create something authentic, luxurious and modern.
I illustrated a range of hand-drawn illustrations which would sit alongside a new logo and colour palate. I also combined the new designs to re-create an 'Instagramable' menu, flyers, social media assets and of course, a logo and brand that cuts through the noise.
Overall I designed a successful re-brand for Joy Raj which would stand out in person and online and would attract the target audience. I curated a new messaging house for Joy Raj to use as messaging guidelines, along with brand guidelines featuring image guides.
The branding was rolled out across menu designs, flyers, posters, signage and social media.
